About Journeying Forward

A personal journal about life after loss—and the life still unfolding.

I'm a widow, a woman of a certain age, and someone learning to navigate single life in a couples' world. This is a place to share that experience honestly, with affection for life's absurdities and a little hope for what lies ahead.

Always finding joy and hope. Not because every day is easy, but because those things still matter.

Honest words. A little laughter.

This journal isn't a guide to getting life right after loss. It's a space for the questions that don't come with neat answers, and for noticing what can still bring warmth to an ordinary day.

I write about reconnecting with friends, stepping toward the dating world, and finding a sense of belonging as a single person. Independence can feel welcome and unfamiliar at the same time. So can the possibility of a new connection.

Hope, without the hurry.

There is no timetable here for feeling ready, being brave, or finding the funny side. Laughter doesn't make loss less real. A difficult day doesn't cancel the possibility of a good one.

If any of this sounds familiar, I hope you'll find companionship in these pages. We can be uncertain and still be curious about what comes next.

There is room for what comes next.

Not every day feels hopeful. That doesn't mean hope is gone.

If you're navigating a new chapter too, you're welcome here—with your questions, your laughter, and no need to have it all figured out.
